Integrating Governance console and Model Management on AWS

Before you begin

Note: This topic applies to watsonx.governance as a Service on AWS in the Mumbai region.
Required services
  • An instance of watsonx.governance as a Service on AWS.
Required access policies
  • Administrator level access to the watsonx.governance instance.

About this task

To integrate Governance console in IBM watsonx with watsonx.governance, an administrator must follow these steps:
  1. Create the API keys.
  2. Get the Governance console URL.
  3. Assign the watsonx.governance MRG Master profile.
  4. Connect watsonx.governance and Governance console.

Creating the API keys

You need two API keys to connect the Governance console with watsonx.governance.

Do this task as a user with the Service Admin role.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to your watsonx.governance as a Service instance in IBM SaaS Console.
  2. Click the Service ID tab.
  3. Create a service ID and assign the Service admin role to the service ID.

  4. Click the API Keys tab.
  5. Create two API keys, one of type Service ID and the other of type Personal.

  6. Copy the keys. You need them in a later task.

Getting the Governance console URL

You need the Governance console URL to integrate with watsonx.governance.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to your watsonx.governance instance management page.
  2. Click Environment.
  3. In the Fixed URL section, click Copy Copy icon to save the Governance console URL for later.

Assigning the watsonx.governance MRG Master profile

In Governance console, the watsonx.governance MRG Master profile must be on your list of allowed user profiles and the profile must be your current profile.

Procedure

  1. Launch Governance console.
  2. Click Administration menu > Users and Security > Users and select your username.
  3. In Allowed user profiles, select watsonx.governance MRG Master profile.
  4. Select watsonx.governance MRG Master from the Current profile list.
  5. Click Save. The changes take effect immediately.

Connecting watsonx.governance and Governance console

To connect watsonx.governance and Governance console, configure the integration.

Procedure

  1. Open watsonx.governance.
  2. Click Navigation Menu Navigation Menu icon and click AI governance > AI use cases.
  3. Click > Manage Settings > General > Governance console and click Setup.
    1. Enter the URL that you copied in Getting the Governance console URL.
    2. Enter the personal API key that you copied in Creating the API keys.
    3. Select an inventory.

      When users create use cases, they are created in this inventory.

      Your name appears automatically as the Default owner, but you can select a different user. New use cases are owned by the Default owner.

    4. Click Apply.
  4. On the Manage page, enable the integration.
  5. Set up the integration in Governance console.
    1. Launch Governance console.
    2. Verify that you are using the watsonx.governance MRG Master profile.
    3. Click Administration menu > Integrations > watsonx.governance.
    4. Enter the service API key that you created in Creating the API keys.
    5. Test the connection, and then click Save.
