Changing XML file locations in DataStage after migration

Changing XML file locations in DataStage after migration

You must sometimes update the file directory locations of XML files that are in DataStage® flows that you migrated from legacy DataStage.

About this task

After you migrate from a flow from legacy DataStage that contains XML Input or XML Output, you might need to change the file directory location of the XML file. If the flow had parameters or a parameter set, you can change the file location by editing the parameters or parameter set and do not need to change the flow design.

After you migrate the flow into DataStage in Cloud Pak for Data, check the values for file directory locations for the XML file in the flow. Specify the location if necessary.

The following procedure shows how to specify the location if parameters or parameter sets were used to indicate the location information. If the flow doesn't use parameters or parameter sets, you must instead modify the path in the assembly.

Procedure

  1. In the migrated DataStage flow, click the Parameters icon ({#}) on the toolbar.
  2. On the Local parameters or Parameters sets tab, edit the parameter that specifies the XML file location.
  3. Specify the correct location, then click Save.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for all XML file locations that need to be updated.
  5. Click Return to canvas.
  6. Click Run to run the flow and verify the results.
